I was guessing damaged and repaired given the welding. Seems to have been done a long time ago though.

Looking at a bike locally, it's badged as a Carlton Corsa and has the wrap over seat stays. Every other one I've seen has lugs, this one doesn't, the patina and decals all seem authentic but it has no top tube lugs....-re-badged! Fake?,

Hi, But of a lurker, have been in the Retro road forum but now have an MTB. Not especially coveted but it rides well and for £20 I think it's a good start! All original, quite heavy cro-mo steel frame but lots of fun. Only managed a quick go after getting it set up and everything checked...

That's a great colour, looks like a good paint job too. Are you putting decals back on it?

Re: Could well be. I've never seen an original detailed spec sheet for the very late ones. I can see it would have looked really good when it left the factory. Does make me want one of the r501 or higher spec bikes. spec bikes actually.

This is something I'd love to do in the future. Will take a few years to have the time and fitness I would think given I've only done 400 miles total since I've got back on a bike in July. Sounds like a great experience and a worthwhile goal.

Got this quite cheap. It has a couple of issues but it rides like an absolute dream compared to my Carrera and even my Boardman Carbon. It's got paint over the seat tube decal and it's been touched in with white and not Pearl paint. RX100 Deraileur on the back, apparently this is almost...

Ah, no, couldn't be, they just used the W serial. I've just said myself that Worksop closed in 80/81!

Yup, quite possibly, bit worried about it saying 14 speed and the Mavics but I'm guessing it won't hurt the frame as the Corsa is a 12 speed.
