Thanks for that, I have the 1992 Muirwoods, black with yellow rear end. Confirmned as a 1 1/8 then. Just need a cheap black (or fluo yellow) stem to finish a bike im gonna sell, so not mad about spending more than a few quid on it tbh. Thanks though.

I have a 1991/92 Marin Muirwoods that needs a new stem. Before I buy the wrong size, could someone please confirm what size I need? Its for threaded forks (old school style) but ive seen several sizes, 1 inch (sure its not this), 1 1/4 and 1 1/8.

Picked up my third Marin today in as many months, and my second of the week. Not sure exactly what it is about them but I just love the early 90's fluo paint schemes. Ive now got a 92/93 Bolinas Ridge, and 91 Muirwoods and a 91 Palisades Trail. Got my eye on a couple more too...lol Add...

Nice build. Are we agreed this is a 1991 as I have just picked up what I thought was a 91 Muirwoods, but its the matt black one with yellow rear triangle and stem. Stripped it down, clean, painted and rebuilt it over the weekend. Just needs new decals now.

Anyone got any NOS or used Cosmic Trail frame pads or those triangle frame packs going spare? Ideally in yellow, but may be intersted in any colour. They would suit my retro Marin down to the ground and I used to have all this gear when I was a kid, but dont see it around anymore...
