    Post your non-retro ride(s)!!!

Couple of mine. . . DB bought in bits, built for not a lot. Not top dollar components but lots of fun to ride. This is a bit of an experiment. The basis is: Does a mid90s steel bike make a good basis for a touring bike? It's nice but the jury's still out.

    Mercedes A class...Any experiences/ thoughts.

OK. Believe every story you ever heard about these being easy to turn over. The only thing Mercedes about these cars is the Tristar. They are truly shite! Where do I start? Stuff that goes wrong. Springs break. Rear axle trailing arms wear out, once a year or so. Steering column - subject...

Are these thumb shifters any good or are they cheap tat?

Sunrace now own the Sturmey Archer brand but that doesn't excuse or justify this c**p RLF. luv'n'stuff J ps if you can find some 'DNP Epoch 7s' thumbies they are a Deore copy and if you take em apart you will find a '7th click' so they will do 8 speed.

    Gotta Go!

They appear to be an 'Own Brand' sold and distributed by AllTerrain Cycles of Saltaire, near Bradford in Yorkshire. The frame is alloy - not sure what grade - and well formed. Reasonably light without being stupidly fragile. They advertise their frames for trial and freeride - street use -...

Trek 950 decals. The search begins.

Does anyone know if Trek still have decals available for a 1992 950 SingleTrack? The bike is Black Forest Green with gold decals and the decals have purple shading. I want to get it resprayed but all I seem to be able to find are generic Trek decals. Printer cut vinyl. Call me pedantic but...

    Help to identify this, please

It has been suggested this might be an Ellis Briggs frame. Obviously it has been refinished either stove enamelled or powder coated. My guess is the forks are not the originals. It's around 23 inch, doesn't look to have the clearance for cross and the rear triangle looks a bit short...

How old do you think this might be?

Had me a check yesterday Ivo. The brakes are indeed Modolo. Branded Mavic but with Modolo on the blocks. The shift levers are in fact Simplex. Non-index and beautifully machined. Do I take it these may be 'sought after' parts? John
