Is fitting suspension forks to a retro MTB a faux pas?

Was thinkin about putting a pair of suspension forks on my 91 Apex, would this be considered a NO-NO and maybe even a faux pas? I know this is a retro forum an all that but just wated to know your opinions? :? Would it affect the geometry so much that it would make the bike unstable, just...

I've got one fitted to my 91 Apex and have to say it's the kindest thing to sit on, unlike my Arione Wingflex...

    Fork question

Hey Gonzo To remove forks undo headset, take off all spacers and nuts, forks will slip out, if not gently tap (with a block of wood to protect head tube) on the threaded area and out they will pop. That's no amp - that be a LASERDISC player (circa 1997), i thought you know your AV gear -...

    Fork question

Gonzo All you need to do is ask nicely and i would've given you some tips...to remove rounded bolts you can put a saw cut across the head of the bolt, then use a flat headed screw driver to remove said bolt..or alternatively (as tintin40 said) is to drill out before you remove too much allloy...

Keep it on or strip? -oo er

Hey G Have a think about it...? Your favorite bit of kit may have blemishes and scratches and scuffs, that's what makes it so special. If we all had pristine MTB's without the scratches (that remind us of the times we fell off, hit a stone, took the skin off etc) then RETRO BIKE wouldn't be...

    Is retro a disease?

Hey Gonzo Looks like the bug has finally hit you..i think the addiction you have is linked to your age..as we get older we crave the things we did at a younger age, be it MTB, cars or even girls...yes, girls. Why do older men in their late 30's early 40's plump go for the younger woman...we...
