Mine does. Either way it's a nice, reasonably strong frame. Have fun! (mine is going to be single-speeded)

    Kona identification

Here's the small brochure: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... light=kona While they have the same geometry the AA is Easton tubing while the Muni-Mula is generic 7005.

    Kona identification

I can double-check but it looks an awful lot like my '96 Muni-Mula. Were the alum frames the same or different amongst the few models? I know there's a '96 catalog lurking somewhere on the internet but I can't remember where. If I find the link i'll post it.

GT Zaskar? .... or not ?

I know it isn't the one he's looking for but it sounds like this one is a Zaskar and 7000-series tubing. If he bought a frame like this one it is indeed a Zaskar and 7000-series, but obviously not the one he wants. My point is perhaps the seller isn't lying but the buyer just didn't know...

    Panasonic

Haha, nope, already have one! The way I see it the bike is heavy as hell anyway so i'm not worried tremendously about the crank weight. That said, if I find myself something cheap and lighter i'd probably swap. I really like your Panasonic, BTW! I'm strongly considering going back to a...

GT Zaskar? .... or not ?

I'll ask again, does it looks like this?:

    Panasonic

I ride a bike w/ a 200 GS drivetrain (w/ Ultegra bar-end shifters) that works great! I heard horror stories about bio-pace and 200GS but my knees are fine and the shifts are crisp. Granted, it's set to friction but still... (Pic. Bike has a Velo saddle on it now)

GT Zaskar? .... or not ?

When you say it's "curved" does it look like the 2000 Zaskar that is shown on the first page?

GT Zaskar? .... or not ?

I don't know much but in '98 the frame material is listed at 6061. Catalog from: http://www.mtb-kataloge.de/

    Cantilever Brake Pads

See, I like Kool Stop pads a lot. I put 'em on my KHS and am very happy w/ the results. I plan to thrown 'em on my other bikes when needed.

    rare judy FSX

Mine has the regular brace. Mine also has a Klein specific steerer. There can't be many FSX's out there w/ Klein-specific steerers!

    what kona is this?

Back from the dead. I may be interested in Mun-Mula decals at some point. How does one get them?

I believe he was being sarcastic but if he's serious i'm not riding mine anymore!

    Rigid forks and Aluminium frames..

I ride a fully rigid Attitude w/ the aluminum fork and a KHS w/ steel frame and fork. I definitely notice a difference in the ride. Where I ride there's not a ton of really rough trails so the Klein does fine but for a longer ride on a rough trail it'd probably be too jarring.

'96 Kona Race Light handlebar diameter

It's the stock Kona Velocity 1 1/8" quill stem. BTW, is it possible to put riser bars into a non-removable face stem? Or, is it a huge PITA?

'96 Kona Race Light handlebar diameter

I would like to know the handlebar diameter on my '96 Muni-Mula. Any thoughts?

Can Gripshift work with Shimano mechs?

I'm not sure on the newer stuff but the older stuff is compatible. There were lots of bikes made in the mid 90's w/ GS/Shimano drivetrains, including a buddy's Trek and my Kona. I now have a Klein w/ XRay 8sp shifters and a 737 XT derailleur and it works fine.

I saw a family in a suburb of Minneapolis featuring two Mountain Cycles, a Trek Y bike and something else interesting. I wish I could've talked to 'em but I was playing softball at the time...
