    L'Eroica Britannia 2019

Not so - they always knew way back at the start, that 2019 was going to be a problem due to the clash with the 200th Bakewell show. I did the first 3 years, but not interested in spending a weekend in a field miles from anywhere so none since 2016. I reckon the showground and town are plenty...

Best setup for a Colnago thats going to be ridden?

Yep - the seatpost is within its limits and it fits me really well. Two Eroica's (and other rides) completed without any problems.

Best setup for a Colnago thats going to be ridden?

I wonder if the experts in gearing could help me please? I acquired a Colnago Super a few years ago and, in a hurry, put a 1980's 1st Gen Chorus groupset on it. I managed to get round the 100 mile Eroica Britannia route on it, but Mam Nick on a 42T chainring, was horrific. I'm planning on...

Eroica Britannia Moving to Friden Grange for 2017

Re: I wish the organisers the best of British. I respect the gamble and the effort it took in setting the whole thing up, and it's great that we have our own version But I don't think I'll be there next year - Bakewell town was a large part of what made it work, just like Gaiole helps make the...

Eroica Britannia Moving to Friden Grange for 2017

Re: I suspect income is way over £100k but the big unknown is the cost of the Bakewell show ground.... Personally, having attended all the previous ones, it's disappointing not to have the facilities of Bakewell on the doorstep - but they had to do something about the queues to get onto the...

Re: vittoria Hi I've ridden Giro Republics with an spd sole using toe clips, without a problem. The extra sole didn't make a difference. I also own vittoria 1976s and they are excellent btw

    Colnago seat post advice

Re: Hi I'm certainly hoping so - I think bikes around this time did come in more than one tube size and hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge than me can confirm this :-) Cheers

    Colnago seat post advice

Hi I'd be grateful for any advice on seat post sizing for my Collage Super - I bought the frame a couple of years ago (when I was just starting out in this wonderful world of vintage bikes). However just before Christmas the seat post bolt failed on a ride and, having read around the subject a...

    L'eroica 2015 - prices doubled!

If you're able to enjoy the real Eroica for 10-20 Euros a day then chapeau to you. But to get to Italy I had to buy an airline ticket, get a bike box to put my bike in, pay for an expensive taxi transfer the other side to Gaiole, rent an apartment, pay the entry fee, transfer back afterwards etc.

    L'eroica 2015 - prices doubled!

One mans rip-off is anothers great value. You're trying to impose your values on other people and that doesn't work. This event is expensive is you compare it to some cheapo events but I've done the Italian one and compared to that, this is an absolute billy-bargain. But even when not comparing...

Thanks David - pretty sure the BB is alloy - if I can't get the old tape out I'll try that tip as well - many thanks

Have I got the wrong BB....or a bigger problem...?

Re: Hi Shaun Thanks for the quick reply - I've got the direction sorted thanks. Its a good point to recheck for crud - I thought it looked clean but I'll give it a really thorough going over and see if that helps. It looks like someone's used teflon tape in the past as there's still old...

Have I got the wrong BB....or a bigger problem...?

Hi I's starting out on rebuilding and old mid 80's Colnago Super and have started collecting some of the bits I need. I thought I'd start with something easy today (the BB) but hit a problem already and wondered if anyone could help please? I have a BBIT 12 Campag 111mm cartridge bottom bracket...
