OUCH on the price..lol..but they are the 40h version which are vhtf so prob good value at that, and they do look to be in perfect nick. The raleigh spec ones are 36h, so i'm hoping they will come in a bit cheaper :-) PS. The hubs i have are 36h.

Geographically, very well, grew up in Patrington, went to With School, know most of the east end back roads round Easington, Skeffling, Holmpton......from a cycling point of view not so well, guessing the road from Kilnsea down to Spurn Head is a bit rough, yes?

Currently have 23mm Lugano's on the road bike, could swap them out to 28mm Vittoria Randonneurs though, but also have a hybrid with fat slicks (37mm) for town riding. Which would you ride?

I could be up for this (work permitting), when you say bridleways and disused railway, do you mean MTB/Hybrid terrain, or can it be done on a road bike?

Thanks for that, some excellent information. The rims are a bit odd, the external width is about 20mm but the clincher 'lip' is quite thick, giving a minimum internal width of about 14mm, underneath the lip the width broadens out to prob 16 or 17mm, took some advice from the LBS and they said...

Yay...RESULT.....Just been down the LBS to have the uniglide cassette removed and a hyperglide cassette goes straight on the 600 FH 6402 hub. So 1 problem sorted and a bonus surplus uniglide cassette to go on flea bay :D
