Highpath No.01 by Dave Wrath-Sharman *SOLD to a RetroBiker*

OK. I want a new project or three as my Highpath resto has given me the retro bug, so I'm testing the water here. SEE HERE for the full story of a labour of love restoration. The spec for this important piece of British off road biking history is as follows: Year : 1985 Frame: Custom...

    1985 Highpath No. 1 by Dave Wrath-Sharman

Thank you. The wheels are Mavic box-section eyeletted 650B and the tyres are big! Rim diameter is 584 mm. See 650B website for some interesting stuff on the 650B wheelsize. My feet can't touch the ground when I sit on it - by a long way! The wheelbase is short too so the ride is...

    1985 Highpath No. 1 by Dave Wrath-Sharman

Cheers for that. Here is a wee write up I posted on Retrobike: Hi folks, just back from my first outing on the Highpath. It was just a gentle ride around the cyclepaths of Edinburgh and Leith to see how the bike performed and sort out any glitches. Jumping on and riding away I was...

Thanks for your comment. There are actually two narrow crossbars in there. Here is a pic up that shows them. The rear rack is a thing of absolute beauty. DWS made it. The front rack is a later bolt on addition and quite nice quality. DWS made the bike so that it can be taken apart with 3...

    1985 Highpath No. 1 by Dave Wrath-Sharman

SEE HERE for the full story on Retrobike After three months of graft this 1985 Highpath by the legendary Dave Wrath-Sharman, which was found battered, bruised, derelict and with a lot of bits missing has once again taken to the road. It's a bit of British offroad bike history for sure...

Highpath first ride today Hi folks, just back from my first outing on the Highpath. It was just a gentle ride around the cyclepaths of Edinburgh and Leith to see how the bike performed and sort out any glitches. Jumping on and riding away I was immediately struck by the riding position. It...

GJW - cheers man, you seem to know more about these magnificent machines than GA and DWS  So, I can pretty much use what I deem as a suitable and appropriate saddle then? I'm looking at Brooks, Avocet and ....... Bontrager as a sort of hat tip to the Colonials in an ironic stylee...

No idea about the flooring, but I'll ask the staff! Velo plush? hmmm interesting, I'm sure Geoff Apps would appreciate the radical approach. Brooks doesn't float my boat actually. I might not even fit a seat. I spend all my time at work up on the pegs anyway, so sitting feels a bit...

True, that Cuillin is an ok bike, but that's all it is. Edinburgh Bike aint what they were either. Last time I was in they had a couple of Pashleys that just looked forlorn. Shame.

Better bars......they come up to my chest. These bikes are tall  ps in background are a Dawes Duchess and an Edinburgh Bike Cuillin hybrid thing. The Dawes went right round Loch Rannoch recently on only three pints of Tennents!

Re: Plea! Parts wanted to finish my Highpath Pulse jets are a hoot. We make em with cans and jam jars to get young folk interested, which they do! Especially when they get going! We intend to buld a pulse jet and fit it to a skateboard or something.....great crack! I agree with the bars...

Re: Plea! Parts wanted to finish my Highpath True -- I'm on the case mate. Take a look at the pics above and see if you recognise a nice set of bars! They are still a possibility if I can get the right shifters etc. I sure am having a lot of fun restoring this thing, so much so that when...

Plea! Parts wanted to finish my Highpath cross posted in 'Wanted' OK. I surrender :( After searching, researching, buying and trying umpteen levers and shifters for my Highpath I have hit a brick wall. My head is spinning! Nothing I have fitted looks and or works right, so I put out...
