Probably not helpful, but if it were me I'd have alloy ones in some colour that contrasts with the black cranks. I have a bit of a weakness for anodised alu - my most recent build has little accents of blue all over. If your choices are all black, I can't see that it makes a lot of difference...

I've had a DB WCF since 1997. It's been ridden regularly in that time and there's not a glimmer of any problems - no creaks or cracks or anything.

The main bearing and shock mounts look like they could be the same as on my 2004 Rift Zone, so given that's a five year span you could be in luck. I'll see if I can measure some key dimensions and you can check?

Where do you get the paint strip done for £40? I'm the other end of the Forest from you and I need that doing.

Thanks - I was thinking of painting a stem to match the bike but that one looks too nice to do that. I have another way of doing the cable stop so that's not a problem. How much would you want for this one?
