Hi, Steerer is 208mm, when I push down on them there is abot 40mm of travel, probably more when on the bike. 8)

I had an xt 8 speed cassette on there, I stand to be corrected but I believe you can put an 8 or 9 speed cassette on, isn't the 9 speed cassette just narrower than the 8 speed.
