    SWAP - C-Record 2nd Gen Rear Derailleur

Would anyone consider swapping an 8spd Ergo compatible Record rear derailleur for my C-Record 2nd gen model (all original, working fine etc.)

    Amazing vintage Italian cycling programmes

If any of you guys are able to pick up the Italian 'Rai Sports 2' satellite channel, they seem to be having a 'retro' season at the moment. Lots of racing footage from the last 100 years and interviews with riders and managers (expect moustached men with Colnago embroidered onto their woolen...

    nice raleigh banana-slippery price though...

This country seems to be littered with cheap 'sports bike' gates alright. They're always the same, saddle right down, stem high up etc.. they look shite. I reckon it's the case that British bike shops in the 80's didn't understand what the correct frame sizes were and sold everyone 25" frames.

Want to weigh your bike/parts/cat cheaply and accurately?!

Definately - I've weighed my kids loads of times with one of these. Oddly, I've not weighed any of my bikes, and not even my cat :?

    nice raleigh banana-slippery price though...

Why would anyone respray a HiTen frameset ? The price is beyond slippery. eBay is littered with Team Bananas that sell for about 10 times less !

road Bike of The Month May 2012 - Nominations Please

Re: Vitus I agree, love the stuff. I've got both silver on one bike and gold on another. I think silver would look ace on this vitus, keeping almost everything black and silver. Look make a really nice bright silver tape which isn't easy to find anywhere, probably only CRC...

    Harry Hall SLX

I had to double take as well, thought it was a Daccordi at first.... I'm with Jamie, it's the best HH I've seen, and I see them all the time where I live...

    Harry Hall

Very true unfortunately. I rarely hear anything good about that shop and personally avoid it. Sometimes if you're lucky there's one nice friendly person who might serve you, but certainly don't expect anyone to show an interest in HH frames, that's a completely different era of the business...

    Olmo New Sintex

Awsome - love the colour and the stars on the paint job. Those lugs are outrageously minimal - and check out the gussetting on the BB shell :D Love the way the seat stays blend into the seat clamp lug.

    Guerciotti Record

Love it, very nice indeed - a real beauty alright. It's even got blue jockey wheels, where on earth did you get those from ? Thanks for sharing the piccie... Don't take it out in this shite weather ! I guess if I owned this bike and had plenty of spare cash, the one thing I'd...

    F.Moser Leader AX Bugno replica

I've got a 1990 copy of Bicisport magazine that followed the Gatorade team through Il Giro. Lots of photos of these bikes. I'd have loved one, especially the green. In fact, I took a colour photocopy from this mag to the paint shop when I had a frame resprayed and asked for the same colours.

    Centrepull or Caliper ?

you mean end up with the cable routing on the wrong side  never

    Centrepull or Caliper ?

It does seem like I'm only 10mm off, so assuming the caliper in my photo is a 49mm, a 57mm might do. I'm think about it...thanks.

    Centrepull or Caliper ?

Thanks for all the replies everyone, much appreciated. You've answered the question, which is that I should get centre-pulls. The rear brake cable bridge is really nicely done, so you're right, I should therefore use it. I've got my eye on some Mafacs right now. I'm sticking with 700c...

    Quality ad

Right I'm going to sell my racer on usedandwell.co.uk, I've selected the 'Bike' category, and now I've got to choose between Road and Mountain.....hmmm, I'm selling a racing bike, so lets choose.......mountain bike...... I quite like the term 'aloyminum' though, I'm surprised a frame...

    odd auction....

Somethings gone wrong here... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-RALEIGH ... 35bb0bf490 They claim it's a nice 'fixie' and also state that "brakes and gears are working" They used it for a photoshoot, yet somehow managed to reverse the image ? Or did they forget to state that the chainset...

    Centrepull or Caliper ?

Got some photos now: I think the last is most useful. It shows a standard 7700 rear caliper, which I assume is a 49cm drop ? I'm therefore hoping that there is a 'standard' of long drop that my frame is designed for, i.e. the 59cm drop calipers I've seen advertised. But I still have the...
