Bar end bar ends! why didn't i think of that!

Same reason people used to flip road bike drop bars upside down. Because they don't know any better and or they can't bend over. This was probably the wrong bike for the original owner but some bike shop was glad to sell it to him.

Ian Cammish Fans - have a look

Beautiful machine! I think he should just buy his wife something nice in return for letting him keep it.

Whats better to train on a heavy or light bike ??

Ask and ye shall receive. These are the bikes I've been training on all season. Fuji - long slow rides on the rec path and dirt roads. Also 1 minute intervals. I worked up to 16. Tommasini - primarily used for a twice a month 10 mile time trial. I was one of the few riding a normal road...

Whats better to train on a heavy or light bike ??

Thank you gents! I came from a power lifting back ground if you can believe it. We used to train like body builders in the early stages of getting ready for a meet. As the weeks went by we dropped many of the body building exercises and ended up just doing the basic power lifting lifts. I...

Whats better to train on a heavy or light bike ??

I like to train heavy and race light. Bucking all known advice I also mix up fixed gear riding, SS riding, road bike riding and a couple of different mountain bike riding. I think all the different positions and changes help my body from being to particular. It works for me.

Does anyone ride Retro and Modern?

I agree with that a proper saddle (in the proper position, not too high, and sweet spot fore and aft) and some higher volume tires would probably make more difference than frame material. Also you must have the proper handlebar hight to avoid excessive pressure, either on your rear or your...

Some early Ritchey photos from Eurobike

Thanks for the pictures! I'd ride the heck out of that old Ritchey! It looks roomy and comfortable. Something that would be fun on an all day ride.

    1969 Cinelli SC New Pictures!

Re: 1969 Cinelli SC Beautiful! I'd love to ride that in the morning Sir! Something tells me nobody is going to be restoring their Madone's in 2058. Probably because there won't be any left. Steel is the surely one of the best materials for a quality bicycle frame. One that you could hand...

    1993 Yeti ARC

Re: My Ranjeet Grewel inspired Yeti ARC By the way Ranjeet was a great rider! I used to love watching him ride. In 2005 I met his father in Colorado and spoke with him at great length. He was a very nice man and his life story was really neat to hear. He was very gracious and I feel very...

    1993 Yeti ARC

Re: My Ranjeet Grewel inspired Yeti ARC Very nicely done. Your build is making me want to break out my FRO and get it going. Your bike looks very similar to all the Yeti ARCs I saw racing NORBA nationals back in the early 90s. Especially the ones that came with riders from California. Mind...

Took an old friend out for a ride today - Serotta Ti

This all makes me very sad. I've loved my Serotta even if I did get it second hand. I hope that Serotta can rise from the ashes and continue to give us beautiful bicycles. I hope that there will always be a market for people that don't want a corporate offering.

Took an old friend out for a ride today - Serotta Ti

I forgot to mention after getting into a "tank slapper" at over 50 mph going down a hill I took off the cf fork, sheet aluminum stem and replaced them with a Colnago fork and a Cinelli stem. I also never ran my Shamal wheels in road races anymore. Only crits. I suspect it was a cross wind...

Took an old friend out for a ride today - Serotta Ti

This is my Serotta Ti that I bought from Scott Moninger. Scott rode for Coors Light and this was one of his bikes. If I remember right this bike dates from 1994. After many years the paint was looking shabby so I shipped it off to Serotta to get it glass beaded and a brush finish. They told...

    Lost my Retro Mojo.........

I go back and forth. I like the retro stuff and the new stuff. At least up to a point. Personally I wouldn't sell anything because when I do then inevitably I regret it later. Retro Mojo (and other mojos) can be like the tide, it comes and goes.
