Bit of fun ..... What's my frame?

It's for a full mud guard :) Dead give away as a M-trax/Dyna-Tech

    New frames, old school style

I like the look of this: http://spectre-bikeshop.com/product_inf ... ucts_id/36. Shame it's rim brake only. Got a good review in MBR a few years ago.

    Anyone taking part in Movember?

I'm suffering with a thirsty eyebrow. Hopefullt it'll get a bit more interesting. It's just past the, "You've forgotten to shave today" stage. http://www.movember.com/m/1740224 Good luck every one.

    Goldtec hubs (with oil port)

Hub and tool have just been collected from me. I've included the instruction sheet too. The hub's so well sealed, you might get away with bonding the bearing in place in my old hub and so gain another working unit. Just a thought.

    Retro-modern Columbus Genius road bike

E-bay madness http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-vintage-C ... 484254d081 Guess the stem's worth as nearly much as the frame ;)

    Ebay Madness No. 2761

Cinelli stem for $148! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NOS-vintage-C ... 484254d081 I got one (in matching bubblewrap bag) PLUS matching bars for my Columbus Genius retro modern project for £50. And I didn't haggle, having got such a bargain on the frame and forks.

Nick, yes. Did he have a Polish sounding last name? The other names don't ring a bell, but that's typical of me. You'd never guess I have a job where it's essential to know loads of people by name.

Nope, I don't recognise you. But I know the guy with the Verlicci bouncy bike and possibly the chap behind, but not holding, the road bike and the bloke kneeling down. Can't recall their names (but that's tupical of me).

    Retro-modern Columbus Genius road bike

Hi, I'm Piers (the user name gives it away rather). You might know me, I rode that Hardisty, then a red and silver Santa Cruz Heckler. I'm tall and built like a racing snake. I started ridng with Bad Brains in '94. Should we start an old Bad Brains thread?

    forgot i had this

Lovely :) Yellow with orange Bombers! Is there much tail-wag from the back end? I must get around to putting mine back together. But my NOS road bike has got its seatpost...

    Road mechs on mtbs

I ran short cage XT with a 12-28 cassette and MTB rings. No problems and I miss having the clearance on my modern bikes.

Woooo, spooky indeed. Yep that was me. I'd a candy red hardtail with RC30 or RC35 forks. Same red as the road bike and same tube-set too :D

Yep to both, Wakey and MTB. Still not put the bar tape on as I've had a w/e of technical fails - 2 very dead computers (both same make and both with mysteriously disabled boot capabilities on all drives  ) and a dishwasher full of stinking water (now fixed). So, I thought I'd leave it...

    Badger botherer

Labradors are solid too. Dozy pedestrians doubly so. Ducks and blackbirds less so (according to mates). I did read letter in BUMUK from a guy who was hammering off Cader Idris when he rounded a bend and ploughed in to what he thought was a boulder in the track. Upon picking himself up...

Saw this and thought of you - Bio-Racer with Mavic Zap

FYI, not promoting a sale. London Fixed-gear and Single-speed forums have a gorgeous looking Columbus Genius racer with Mavic Zap. It's located in the RoW rather than the UK. But looks rather nice. http://www.lfgss.com/thread69703.html

    Retro-modern Columbus Genius road bike

Still not fully finished (bar tape and brake cables to trim) but some pictures after a lovely sunny ride. I've already bought a new saddle cos the Ti Allias is like sitting on a plank with a hole in it and I'm fed-up with light weight pain. The bar tape is Giro fi'zi:k (black with a...

    Goldtec hubs (with oil port)

They're SAM hubs and need a special "castle" tool to remove the freehub - I think you need to pop the green rubber seal to access it. I got mine in '98 I think. They were well designed but my bearings were not a good interference fit and, in the middle of a Bontrager 24/12, they came adrift...

NightRider bulb - OK or blown? SOLVED!

You might not be quite so lucky as to fit a standard bulb. I've a nice Specialized Solo NiCad made by NiteRider. The bulb unit is an NR11 as opposed to standard MR11 - it is 6V and has an lens fixed to the front which makes it a bit thicker, important for fitting the front plate of the lamp...

PoTM October 2011 - 'Falling Leaves' - Entries Invited

The Wikki pix do look different, mostly 'cause the top and bottom pix are young specimens and the middle, mature one is a flash photo so rather washed out. Check the centre of the cap for the speckling effect and the ring on the stipe (stem). Honey fungus is notoriously variable - there are...
