ive used a lot 1x7´s 8´8 and some 7´s. usually with dmr or truvativ chainguide,although id like to get my hands on some older guides. its reliable,simple,effective,nice looking,compared to many front chainring-setups IMO. but,nothing in this world beats singlespeeds and fixed gears. :lol:

got a hold of old Scott ( ? ) downhill frame that has two shock absorbers for rear swing,its broken as the steering tube has cracked off but ill think me and TIG will handle it :) along comes some wheels and some 180-200mm fork as well. plus basket full of parts. for 50 euros,not too bad...

ive studied some metallurgy since i forge knives and tools etc. it might be partly true,that it comes HARDER,not stronger,and as it might get harder its also more brittle till th epoint in wont be able to bentback when stressed and it just cracks into pieces. i think. :?
