'94 Alpinestars AL-D900, old frame, new parts

Nice ! I like it for the fact that it's built to be different... very refreshing, makes this stands out apart from period correct builds....love the Titec H bars, ever toyed with the idea of putting this bar on my Killer V. It would be comfy with panniers mounted behind for rides.

    Trek Y Be Embarassed

That's a nice Y, and kept in good nick as well. Was not a fan of the Y bikes back in mid ti late 90s although I do find the design pretty slick n radical looking....A Super V would always be a 'do everything' bike for me.....time passes n managed to get hold of two of these bikes, one...

    Cannondale Delta V 1000.

That's a nice one! ....and those XYZ barends. I still have those long original versions of the XYZs with me since '92-93, waiting for a correct sized full suss Delta V to come along. Some nice knobbies would do justice instead of those slick tyres? Sweet !

    1997/1998 Trek Y Five-O (sort of??) FINISHED!!!!!!

Wow, great job there on the Y ! I had initially thought that was a Y Five-0 before reading your post. Those red tribal designs actually have black coloured outlines on them though....Nice work

help! how to fit 1 1/8 forks to cannondale carbon raven 4000

The current standard 1.5 inch headsets that are seen commonly on todays DH and Freeride frames are not the same as the Cannondale headshok steerer's measurements. The Headshok steerer tube measures at 1.5625 inches thereabouts so effectively if your FSA headset for inner diameter meant for...

help! how to fit 1 1/8 forks to cannondale carbon raven 4000

There are actually Headset reducer cups/ adapters to reduce the head tube size down to 1 1/8" whereby you could fit in 1 1/8 headsets to use regular forks. I believe e.thirdteen & Problem Solvers do make them. Google 'Çannondale Heaset reducer cups' & it will come up with lots of answers to...

Magic motorcycle crank bottom bracket tool

I don't know if there's any issues faced by others who've tried, but i have installed and removed the Coda magics's Bottom bracket cups using the Shimano Hollowtech 2 tool without any issues thus far

    Older full suspension frames

Those old URT suspension designs....either they work for you or they don't. They were known for the 'pogo' effect bobbing up and down when one pedals along. Not too bad for me and my Brother-In-Law as we decided to be adventurous and tried the notorious Y bikes with URT designs. Tried various...

    1996 Trek Y 22 nude before & after

Hey BG ! Thank you very much. Valuable info there on the shocks. Appreciate it! By the way if yours leaks gradually it may be internal worn seals or just the valve core on the schrader valve which is cheap fix & can be replaced easily ( judging by the age of these shocks, the rubber on the valve...

    1996 Trek Y 22 nude before & after

Hi dmccart2, I get what you mean now....those factory cable stops/guides that came stock on the Y33/ 50s with the external lockout shocks on the front end of the frames and the Y22s without the factory cable stop installed but with the hole on the drive side of the frame. Do you by any chance...

    1996 Trek Y 22 nude before & after

Thanks for the info ! I noticed there was no difference on the shock mounts on the frame between the earlier pre 1998 Trek Y 22/ 33/ 50. No noticeable difference i noticed between the model with or without the rear shocks with lockout . The shock mounts on the post 1998 were improved somewhat...

    1996 Trek Y 22 nude before & after

That's nice ! Love the look of those Tamer hubs....looks like some pearl finish on some old Tama drum shells :D May I know what resulted in the failure of your Stratos Pro shocks? Failure due to age/ wear & tear or leaking air/ oil seals? I am running one of those shocks on a Y bike now and...
