Hi, I've been setting up the gears on my first build. However, the force needed when changing gear seems excessive. Its connected to a deore lx m580 shifter (these are new to me as I was used to gripshift). This is via XTR cables. Is it normal for it to be this tough to change gear...

I contacted this company a while back about prices and they were very cheap. http://cascoatings.localtraders.biz/ it was around the £25 mark for frame & forks in any colour including shotblast. the downside being is they only do it in single colour. its based in eccleshill by the way.

the WTB tyres seem to be reduced regularly on crc. I got a WTB raijin 2.1 for £10 a while back. think they are 550g ish so a bit lighter. very happy with it so far. may change to another soon though for summer as they wear quickly.
