    Rear light recommendations.

Have to admit, really liking those Smart units. Personally, I run cheap as chips ebay jobbies, one on my pack, one on my bike, although the bracket is meant to be a bit pants so I don't use it. But.. if you want quality get one of the one's listed :-)

    Plymouth ride 13th nov - & Aftermath!

I just plotted the route out. Was at least 18.88 miles. I got a little lost on one section between where we went onto the REALLY muddy trail near the end with slate on the downhill and the exit to that at newnham park. Should have taken a GPS unit to map the route :-) I got most of it...

    Plymouth ride 13th nov - & Aftermath!

You know you guys are gonna have to work out the actual distance on that one! Firstly, MANY thanks to Josh for lending me a bike to go out on for the day (AKA: The Orange Beast). I think I now have the confidence to take the hybrid out next time without 'too much' fear of damaging it...

    Clipless pedals. The Hilarity!

So basically... personal taste. When you say never had a crash due to SPD's.. have you had a crash possibly made worse because you remained clipped in?

    Plymouth ride 13th nov - & Aftermath!

Cool :-) I managed to get some extra rest last night, to give my legs a rest from a week of comuting (I'm only a newb!) I think I am gonna be dead after this, though... who's got a tow rope?

    Clipless pedals. The Hilarity!

One negative point I've noticed is that trying to clip in when pulling away is a pain in the arse. It was much easier and safer with flatties. I'm already making sure I read ahead the traffic more with SPD's though, and don't be an ass and go through red lights etc, just because it...

    Plymouth ride 13th nov - & Aftermath!

Wet weather gear was on today. Unfortunately not on my feet though. Flash floods, huge puddles, getting sprayed by car's.. barely able to see when going down forder valley hill with the driving rain that was just thrashing it down for 5 minutes. (That's another thing... having lost my glasses...

    WATER BOTTLE or CAMELBAK?

I don't even have a water bottle for my bike let alone a camel pack! But.. I do see a fair few cyclists (MTBers) with camelpaks.
