All good so far with the rear wheel. No tings or pings to be heard. Wheel had spoke replaced and was trued. Was more expensive that I expected although I didn't expect free lol. Is trueing covered under my service contract with Halfords? (as it's labour).

Well... I STILL have to send off the bike light back to DX, but as it happens the BEAST turned up today (BATTERY 13000mah lol) (http://www.dealextreme.com/p/rechargeab ... ack-110679) , so I now have the ideal packaging to send the light back in :-) Guess I'll have to wait for a replacement...

Wheel is back, bike now washed :-) It's not currently catching on the brakes.. so no more hard core 'braked' ride to work. I'm looking at cable disc brakes and hydrualic disc brakes on the cheap. I saw the Giant MPH set in the for sale section.. interested, but I'd need centre lock adaptors...

But obviously there are many photographed and video examples of carbon failing, and failing extremely badly. Notice that the aluminium frame still stayed intact even though it bent.. the carbon just let go.

What's cool is, although it is a v-brake bike, I have mounting points for calipers front and rear :-) It will make my bike heavier but I would prefer disc's tbh. I just can't afford a lot. Hopefully I can win the wheels on ebay for a reasonable price. (Like under £50).

I use a deal extreme block for my helmet, (just like the lock blocks) and they never move. Excellent. If they move on the handlebars, I would just recommend putting some grip tape around the bar first, but I guarantee the torch won't move in the block. Also.. they replied about the circuit...

Circuit board was facing downwards against the battery. Looks to have a little corrosion on it and on the chip legs unfortunately. Will see what I can do with it. I just checked the chipset, and I think it's screwed, will need a new circuit board. Batteries themselves appear to be fine...
