    Paul Donohue strip and rebuild - advice needed

    If you don't like the 8 speed, find a donor 9 speed bike and swap the bits you like. Then sell what is left part by part. Good chance you will get close to what you paid for the donor bike.

    Not an MTB, but I found a small Araya road bike with full Dura Ace 7400 in the trash in my neighborhood maybe 16 years ago. Still have the rear mech.. Sold some of the parts and the wife trashed a bunch. I wish I had the parts now.

    Calling all East Coast / New England Retrobikers! Help!

    Kind of a long drive from NYC... but Arcadia National Park in Maine is really nice for biking. There are carriage roads that the Rockefellers made that give a great view of the island. My family did it last summer. Also there are bunch of bike shops.

    Vintage worn rims with modern disc hubs

    I have a pair of Sun CR17's that the brake surface is well worn, probably not safe to use rims with brakes. Would it OK to use them with disc hubs? Is this a bad idea?
