Anyone tried offroad video apps for smart turbo trainers?

Have never had much interest in using indoor cycling trainers. However, after a knee op I did briefly look at the ‘smart turbo trainers’ linked to interactive apps, but they appeared to be aimed very much at the roadies. Lately, there appears to be a few interactive turbo trainer apps catering...

    wibbly wobbly

It is a non tubeless rim, and i assumed that ‘tubeless ready’ tyres would fit tubular rim. I have pumped tyre up to maximum rated 65psi, but no change. Have used a narrow rim tape to make sure wall is clear, with no change.

    wibbly wobbly

Fitted some new Continental CrossKing folding 26*2. The tyres are stamped ‘tubeless ready’, however i am running them with tubes. When fitted the wheels look like they have a Serious buckle. I have tried wiping the bead with soap in the hope it would seat properly. Have tried riding the bike...

    unior tensiometer review

Re: Rice pudding now in the oven, so will give an example of how i used the tensiometer for the first time. Wheels: Hope pro2 hubs, 32 spokes, 3 cross lacing, mavic x317 disc rim, unknown stainless double butted 2/1.8/2 spokes, 26". Initially found it fiddly to locate the meter on every other...

    unior tensiometer review

Just bought a 'unior' branded spoke tensiometer. Thought it would be a useful exercise in reviewing it for those interested. After a rear wheel fight with a branch a couple of weeks back, putting in a serious wheel wobble, I started to read up about wheel truing. Initially trued it reasonably...

Re: Marzocchi Z2 Atom Sport 1" 1/8 >200mm alloy steerer Could you confirm whether these are ‘Atom sport oil’ or ‘atom sport air’? Interested if they are the all oil bath version, as i have a longer steerer stanchion and parts i can swap in if need be.

Wheel build with used hubs and spokes

Just happened to be reading through Roger Musson’s wheelbuilding book. There is a few paragraphs on using used parts. The primary recommendation is that it is fine so long as you rebuild with the same pattern and lacing locations as original. Hub usually scuffed enough to see what the original...

Who has the most patches on their tubes then?

Re: I buy patches by the 100. On my third batch, over a couple of decades. Have used c-cure-c and rema brands with no issues. Latest batch of 100 plus glue was £11, so about 10p a patch. I buy Continental Mtb light or supersonic when i spot them at about £8. Find they grip the hawthorn tight...

Who has the most patches on their tubes then?

Two rear tubes, each with 20 patches now after today. My current isolation ride, of about 2 hrs uses an old railway line and canal path. Both extensively cut recently, hence all the punctures. No point on putting in a new tube until the route clears a bit. Get between one and four each ride at...

Who has the most patches on their tubes then?

I used to have a limit of about 10 before binning a tube. That has crept up to about 15 now. But why have a limit at all?

Mountain Mayhem 2020 Isolation 24hr ride

A variation on the theme! Is the population density of retrobikers such that it would be possible to relay a retrobike item around, up, down, across the uk? Items to be dropped off at some location, to be picked up by next nearest retrobiker.

    Lockdown Health Rides!

Re: Today was day 14 of my self isolation after having returned from Italy. Had no symptoms during the two weeks. Yay, finally allowed out, and so lucky for it to be on my bike. My 2001 Rock Lobster was by now, super spick and span having spent a fair bit of my isolation 'bimbling' it. So good...

Mayhem 2020 cancelled due to apocalypse

Re: If i was to go, Fryup would have to be Fri and Sat night to make the travel distance worthwhile for me. Just to be clear, was this being suggested as the MM weekend replacement?
