    *SOLD* OFF-ROAD MASTER possibly ‘89

Re: Haha I know what you mean. I couldn’t resist because I couldn’t see that many about, a lot of proflex but not many of these and I’m a sucker for something a bit niche. Alas, real life has got in the way.

    *SOLD* OFF-ROAD MASTER possibly ‘89

Looking to sell this Off-road Master. Having researched online I haven’t seen many about, and certainly not in this condition. Bought it a couple of months ago from a local advert, owner said he’d owned it since 1990, ridden about 50 Miles on it and then had sat in the garage since, he then...

Might be of interest to somebody....Marin Muirwoods

Don't know if this would of been noticed. Due to the small description and misspelling. But looks pretty clean and tidy for those interested in Marins... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marian-Mount ... SwNkJaRLsf

    Offroad Master 1989

Re: Bought this today. Obviously the awful stem extension needs removing but the guy I bought it off said he's had it 26 years and it's covered about 10miles. And he's just had it serviced pre sale. Merry Christmas to me!

    Offroad Master 1989

Re: Found some more info on another re-build thread. Were they relatively good parts from new? Doesn't look like this will have been upgraded at all so hoping the original parts were quality...

    Offroad Master 1989

Re: Resurrecting this thread once again! It seems to be the only information I can find on these bikes. Are the Offroad masters quite rare? Cant find specification or anything online. A guy is selling one locally that has just come out of storage, looks from first impressions to be immaculate...

Re: Incredible. Thank you so much for your advice! The bike shop has already tried to get the free wheels off and turning it in the vice or whatever they did just meant more spokes pinging. I'll definitely follow your advice at home though. I'll try to save what I can. The brake levers are...

Re: It may have been 27" initially but I was just interested in saving the bike and getting it back on the road so I have just replaced like for like. I didn't know any better if I'm being honest. That is for the new owner to decide. But it'll be perfectly rideable when sold. Even if it is with...

Re: As you can see in the rear of the photo, the hubs came up quite nicely even when the wheels were together so once they're chopped up, stripped and polished they'll be more than useable! And very nice too! The rims have a lot of corrosion to the braking surface but I'm sure would be fine.

Re: I indeed to keep them! The rims and hubs will polish up nicely so gonna chop the wheels up and polish them, then include them in the sale. The spokes were either falling apart in my hand or held together with cobwebs.

Re: The rims that I took off it were 'Dunlop Social lightweight'? marked 26" x 1 1/4 so i just replaced with some basic 26" wheels just to complete it, if the dunlops were not original then I have no idea what they would of been. The brakes are GB super hood levers albeit with only one...

Re: Thank you very much for your reply, I wasn't actually planning on adding decals to the new bike, although whoever ends up owning it may want to. It has its head badge and serial numbers for provenance. It has been painted and put back together and is nearly finished. Will be up for sale...
