Cone locknuts are present and correct. No washers between the frame and hub, washers outside the frame under those bolts.

This Stumpy doubles as my pub bike. Bolt on wheels seem to prevent thieving fingers... and it would be slightly ott to change the rear hub for the sake of this one climb.

I have an old Stumpy with horizontal forward facing dropouts; late eighties or early nineties frame depending who is telling me, I bought the Stumpjumper book but it's not in there - thanks Specialized. Twice now, on the same short sharp climb, the rear wheel has pulled loose from the dropouts...

I didn't notice the date - sorry for digging it up. No great hurry on the details of the shock, but it could be handy if the spring is fairly stiff. I'm also on Bikeradar if that's less hassle.

Now sold I have a 600x1.5 RS spring. Great condition, unused. 90mm length. 17 euro inc shipping seems to be the going rate if you're interested. edit: - I also have a 450x2.0 RS spring, again in good condition. Just in case anybody is looking for one.
