    Nice. Don't think I have seen that Brodie on here before. SRAM chains will do earlier 8 speed chains had a problem but they have since sorted it out.

    If you were to buy a modern bike what would you choose?

    For me it would be a Rock Lobster in 650b wheel size. Always wanted a vintage one and it still eludes me (that's a hint by the way) so may as well at least get. Modern one.

    I would say the frame/fork/headset can fetch about 350. Parts Comp stuff is good usable but doesnt pull in too much. Good luck with it.

    xt 732 thumbies with modern Spram derailleur?

    Wont work in either SIS or friction modes. The shifter doesnt pull the cable enough to move the derailleur through the whole range, you end up not being able to get the 3 lowest gears. If you want to get all McGuyver about it you can probably use a Travel Agent to increase the amount of pull.
