Nice, but aren't those the older, shorter Project 2s? I reckon they're from a '92 Kona, and the longer ones are '94 onwards. Of course, if the handling works for you as it is, no reason not to stick with them :-)

If you've bought a fork with a tapered steerer, it's never going to fit in a Lava Dome with a non-tapered 1 1/8" head tube. A 1 1/2" lower cup isn't going to fit in the headtube. This is why having loads of different headset "standards" is stupid.

Don't think I've ridden this since my son was born just over a year ago, so it's probably time to move it on. 2007, medium, standard apart from the forks which were upgraded to the all singing RC2X version of the Marzocchi 66. Everything works as it should, there are some marks on the frame...
