    tREK'S Y50

I had a suspension shop pull an old Fox Float RC apart recently and they were able to reseal it with O-rings they had laying around. Risse Racing in the states rebuilds a lot of vintage stuff if you're really desperate. I think my Y's both take a typical 6.5x1.5 shock, so it may be easier to...

HELP: Rockshox Judy 1995 XC problem?

Unless the elastomers are solid, it should have some travel. Does it slide through its full range of motion with no elastomers installed?

    Anyone into classic cars

I worked start at an autocross once and someone was running a twin turbo R8. The anti-lag and launch control had it spitting huge flames and the noise it made was beautiful!

A Hustler, 2 Handjobs and the elusive G Spot (Cove content)

Looks great! It's the fork and shock seals that get me on every 'easy' resto... I rode an earlier G-Spot with a 5th Element for years and loved it. I did run into problems with where the linkage attaches to the seat tube. At least on the earlier frames, the bolts threaded directly into aluminum...

    Anyone into classic cars

I love a nice C4, particularly with an LT1. I raced (autocross) against a sweet red C4 ZR1 just a few weeks ago - it's still a serious car today.

Mercedes Benz Amp Research B5 like new

There's a silver one in equivalent condition for sale in Canada right now for $2200 CAD. That's a pretty tempting price (as someone whose always wanted a B5). I think you could get more from the right Benz fan though.

rockhopper nitanium 1997 ish seat post

Most Specialized frames use 30.9 mm, but check with calipers to be sure.

Ever wondered about where a bike is now?

I tracked down my first 'good' bike last year - it was a red '94 Rockhopper with a Duotrack fork. I sold it to one of my university professors 25 years ago. I got in touch with him for work reasons and he mentioned he still has it and still uses it regularly. He agreed that if he ever wanted rid...

Girvin crosslinks. What do they look good on and is a disc conversion viable?

The bolt through the leg would not be the failure point I'd worry about. I was holding a mint set of carbon crosslinks years ago and snapped a leg in half when I applied what seemed like very little force. After that, and observing their propensity to eject riders over the bars, I've stayed away...

    Oh Canada Oh Dekerf

That is drool-worthy - congrats! A DeKerf was always on my bucket list. I finished my Impact build recently and just looking at those seat stays makes me all gooey inside.

    Intense M1 identification

Your collection is mint! I'd love an Uzzi (and gen 1 Tazer) to round out my collection. My Tracer came with a Uzzi link and coil shock that the PO bought directly from Jeff Steber at Sea Otter back in the day. I preferred the lighter OE setup, but the Uzzi link bolts right up to the Tracer.

Bought the cheapest M1 on the net - help with ID and specs?

Cool, thanks! I was initially a bit disappointed / confused about the lack of horizontal dropouts and shock mount options, but this explains it. I paid more than an order of magnitude less for my frame! It's also cool that I just happened to have a set of Hope 4 piston brakes to match this spec...

    Intense M1 identification

The front triangle looks much earlier than an '01 to me. My serial number decodes to an '00 and the shape of the indentations on the frame are different and there's one on the seat mast that isn't present on yours or the black frame: 20240323_153753 by Rented Mule, on Flickr Mine also lacks...

1996 Marin Monocoque - Build Thread

That's a good looking bike! I forgot these existed. I wonder if they inspired the design of the Mountain Cycle Moho?

Mavic Crossmax UST wheel / tyre help

I use the Crank Bros Speedier lever. It's decent, but your hand will be sore after you're done. I also picked up a pair of cheap plastic ratcheting clamp pliers to pinch the tire on the opposite side of the rim from where I'm working the lever - it stops the bead from coming off on that end as...

Mavic Crossmax UST wheel / tyre help

I have 4 sets of Mavic UST wheels, a few different versions of Crossmax, a Crossride, and a DeeMax, and I run them all with a standard tube/tire combo. The only pain is mounting tires - buy a lever specifically designed for mounting tubeless and it'll be fine.

Bought the cheapest M1 on the net - help with ID and specs?

I think I have the shock bolts sorted now, but I may get back to you on that. That picture is amazing! The bass boat themed metal flake job in the lower right is what I need!

That looks good - I haven't seen repro decals like those before though. Mine has the flaming logo headtube badge too, which I love.
