    2000 Marin Mount Vision Build

There are loads of these knocking about. Someone might be able to provide the mounting hardware for not much? There is a letter frame for sale on here for £10 if you can pick it up, with float shock!

Picked up this lovely bargain Marin boinger - minor build thread

I’ve done a tiny amount of work on the East Peak and it now runs well. Brakes adjusted, chain lubed, tyres pumped, cleaned up the faded levers and fitted a new unbranded (trek/klein/GF) stem fitted which is identical to the Marin one on my Wolf Ridge. So must be a generic OEM supplier. Oh and...

Bottom of the barrel narrow wide chain rings

Yes I have this exact model from Amazon, it was £15? It’s been on my 1x 10 zee set up on by Rock springs for maybe 3 years? I can’t say it’s done tons of mileage so can’t comment on wear but it’s been faultless for me

    Any Marin experts out there?

My knowledge of Marin bikes dries up around 1995 and I’ve recently purchased two more post 2000 bikes. Can someone help me with some of my questions, maybe? It would satisfy my curiosity. How did the range for FRS bikes go up (ascend) post 1999? E.g. Which were the range toppers? Why does my...

Turns out the Ovation parts are a bit rubbish… the QR skewers had seized solid and the brake levers have badly faded. And yet I’ve got much older Shimano bits which work like new…. Hmm

And another! Does anyone know if it’s missing a rear spring or you can run a fox float as air only? Thanks Edit: looks to be a 2003 and yes, there’s no spring any more: https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?year=2002&brand=Marin%20&model=East%20Peak

Managed to snap up this bag of bits from eBay for £50 no bids: Slapped some old wheels on (shame about the rear tyre), and some donated (free) RS Judy forks and it just about works (stopping is more tricky) and there’s no headset (so no wheelies!). Pic below It Rides and bounces lovely with...

    Bent aluminum hanger. Help please!

I’ve been researching these and the red one has mixed reviews. There is a park tool clone for £40 with better reviews but it’s your money :) https://amzn.eu/d/9NrElMd

    Mystery Karma pass the parcel.....

The Mystery Box is being collected tomorrow and being delivered to Legrandfromage. I’ve filled it fuller than Santa’s sack on Christmas Eve. The box is physically busting at the seams and whilst I was manoeuvring it to wrap the tape around it I nearly put my back out. Felt like a proper...

1996 Zaskar LE with Girvins, Dunfermline, £250

the New Buzzword is 13spd cassettes, oh i can't wait for 14 spd cassettes. 8spd cassettes were cool, 9spd not so much ad infinitum.........

When you say more range? My Marin 3x7 (11-28t and 24,34,42) results in 0.86 and 3.82 extremes. My 1x with 11-42t cassette and 42t chainring results in 1 and 3.82 top. I could have also purchased an 11-46 had I wanted to match the granny gear (0.91)

I’ve also had no issues with 1x systems. Apart from now hating front chainrings and the associated shifting. This was the true upgrade! I manage with 10 speeds which seems plenty.
