    Inbred

Well it's all made up and ready for a voyage this weekend if I can get around packing for a house move. Everyone loves their own bikes but I do think this is a tidy looking machine and more importantly will be really good for those mile munching longer rides, bit of touring and general workhorse

    Inbred

So, decided that I wanted a 29r, and a project. Disc brakes are lovely so that was a must. Fully rigid, bit of a pootling bike, winter warrior, jack of all trades. Had some bits in my spares to use to cut down on costs, as this is a budget build. Gravy Monster had this On-One Inbred going - a...

    So, 26", 27.5" and 29".

I don't get the 29 look ridiculous argument. Far more ridiculous having a gate of a 26 wheeler or two foot of seatpost sticking out IMHO. Some bikes looks good some look awful, again nothing to do with wheel size. Stanton for example make gorgeous bikes in all three wheels sizes.

    So, 26", 27.5" and 29".

Re: Re: Road bikes have bigger wheels and they're used on paved roads  I have one of each size. The 26 feels like a kids bike, but I'm 6.2. The 650b Hardtail I have is brilliant, but it's also the most modern so that helps (better geometry for what I want). I'd not buy another 26...

    On One 45650b

The wheelsize debate is boring so I don't want to start that again, all I can say is this is the bike which fits me best and is the most enjoyable. Part of that may be modern improvements to geometry and reach (rather than massive stems like BITD) but the wheels / tyres feel great as well. So...

    What do I do now?!

Marzocchi is my first choice for forks of that era. Z2's probably for that frame. They are really plush and go on forever with a bit of love (occasionally they crack near the fork brace so inspect any pair that you buy)
