I'll be there. Car sorted I think, one of the caliper slider pins wasn't living up to it's name. A pal was up for a walk on Benarty today - brassic with the wind chill.

Put me down as a maybe - just noticed today front brake is binding on MX-5, so I'll need to take a look at that on the weekend. I can't leave Keri with a borked car.

    And today I did......

A grand day out clubby. Rake and Ruin's a great combination of steep (but not mental 'Benarty' steep), and some tight switchbacks with a LOT of fresh air off to the 'don't fall that way' side, then some slatey trails as you near the quarry. Finally a bonus 'in the woods' section to finish it...

Well in Jim, a deserved winner! Even with the front forks buzzing your tyre and slowing you down we couldn't even get close. We'll have to think of a better handicap next year ;) That was an absolutely superb retro day out. One of the very best I can remember. Trails were absolutely spot on...

    Friday night is nightride night!

Good link that John! I'd add battery packs can be the weak link when you buy a set of cheapo LEDs. To save money, they tend to re-package recycled cells from laptops. Worth investing in decent batteries (4 x Panasonic 18650 cells) and a waterproof battery holder. Higher the mAH rating the better.

    Stepping down

Aye, as above. Can't really argue with Velo's post, I think he's summed it up nicely. Well in clubby, and I reckon the Sidlaws will be a fitting send off - a good combo of retro bikes and modern GPS (and no doubt one or two comedy crashes on the way).
