Weights of your Steel bikes ?

Re: Colnago Super Piu in Tange Ultralight, Retromod with Record-9spd, Vento 3g wheels, Deltas. 8.6Kg Carlton Pro Mkv Campag 9spd triple, Fulcrom 7s, tool bag, pump, rear light etc, bang on 11Kg (so just under 10 I guess "bare") Both 58cm c-c, both a joy to ride, Colnago is summer bike...

Picked off Twitter - https://twitter.com/gcntweet/status/1022432333843128321 John Canning of GCN Network looking for a TVT to feature on the program. Anyone got one? Pretty sure we've seen some being refurbed recently...

    Team Telekom Merckx MXL Discussion

Re: Some early Deltas don't stop as good when badly setup. Later Deltas are sensational. Guy at the bike shop where I used to live in the States used Deltas to stop his Criterium Racing Tandem (Yup, some kind of nuts to race tandems in Criteriums...) My last gen (Gen5?) Deltas are still...

    Senova Cycles - Hertford

Re: Pointy 9s is the early 9spd. Has a different spacing to later non-pointy 9spd. Work nicely though. I've got a pair of record ones waiting for the right build.

    TVT Angles?

It's a spreadsheet, but it can calculate formulae if you put them in. Happy to try and do it if someone can provide the formula (Rienster?)

    TVT Angles?

What's the formula to calculate using H and I? Could you whack it into Excel and let it do the hard work?

    TVT Angles?

Modern groupset on a Retro frame - anyone done it

Re: Depending age of Shamals, you may be able to upgrade those to 10spd. I have 1996 Ventos, which I swapped the freehub with a 9Spd Mirage freehub successfully (the model with 3 spring loaded pawls - oh crap there they go again...), and am running 9spd on them - but did have 10 on at one point...

Modern groupset on a Retro frame - anyone done it

Re: Campag 8 & 10 doesn't play perfectly. It largely works, but from the later 9spd onwards, the cable pull is slightly different. It can be made to work, but needs excellent adjustment. Later 9 with an 8sp derailleur is ok, but needs to be adjusted a lot. Will usually "lose" a shift on the way...

Anyone dented beloved steel framed bike?

My beloved Colnago Super Piu - 3 yo "helping daddy" work on his bike. TWANG. Said 3 year old, proud as punch just whacked a dent into it. That was in 1996. In 2012 I had it refurbished and made the painter leave the dent in (he hated me!) But every time I see it I see a 3yo lad looking proud as...

    Carlton Clubman 531 frame 23"CT

For sale, with regret, too many bikes, too little space. Carlton Clubman 531 frame with headset. (Complete bike is offered in the complete bikes for sale too) Patina, but no major rust, but no show queen either. Bought the frame a year ago on a whim, built it with spares from the box. Runs...

Carlton Clubman - Campag retro mod £350

For sale, my Carlton Clubman, plenty of patina without being manky, and with more modern, quality components. Rides beautifully, and this is not an easy decision. Too many bikes, insufficient space. Carlton Clubman 531 frame (1980 I Believe) 9 speed gear train, Campag Comp Triple RD / FD...

    Today's ROAD ride

Re: WFH today and September true to it's usual promise meant clear blue skies, warm sunshine, 17C. That meant just one thing. Bike ride! Took the Carlton Clubman out on a rip, 20 miles around the Ayrshire coastal plain with Goat Fell on Arran in the backdrop. Lovely day...
