Buckled downtube, safe to cold stretch?

No the fork is straight, I have a NOS spare fork for this frame and I hoped it was a bent fork when I saw the position of the front wheel. When lining up the two forks everything is parallel and straight. The good thing about the accident is that nobody was hurt, just some minor scratches and...

Buckled downtube, safe to cold stretch?

Unfortunately i crashed my DBS La Migliore the other day, it resulted in a buckled down tube and the steering head moved backward in the bottom. The front wheel is now sitting about 2-3 cm further back than normal. A local frame repair shop has offered to cold stretch the frame back. He has one...

    De Rosa with PDM sticker?

Re: Aha, yes this is a plain blue De Rosa, the explanation is very plausable, but the bike seems to be a bit large for Dag Eriks size its a 58 cm c-c, but the bike has turned up in his neighborhood making it very plausible to be his bike then. I am tempted since i wrecked my DBS La Migliore...

Deltas - not as bad as you think

Re: I have made exactly the same experience, I replaced the Chorus brakes with the 2nd (3rd if you count the prototype) generation Record Delta's, on my Rossin Ghibli. I have no intention to switch back as the Delta are equally good. Yes they are bit fiddly to set up, you have to be patient...

    Elswick Tour Angelais Prima

This Elswick Tour Angelais Prima is for sale here in Norway for a very reasonable price. The seller is asking for bids above £ 70,- The seller believes its from around 1959. Its the right size for me and the price seems fair so I am tempted. There is not much information about the Elswick Tour...

    Which make is this bike?

Re: I got a new lead during the weekend, It seems like the bike is a spanish Razesa Ritter bike from around 87, the front fork is later. I was out on a vintage ride during the weekend and on of the participants gave me the lead towards Spain and Zeus, aparantely Razesa made frames for Zeus...

    Which make is this bike?

Re: A Gios with English tread bottom bracket? I think the bottom bracket tread rule out Italian or? And no I am not so sure I want to repaint it, its kind of cool, its not a sloppy hand paint job, this is a processional paint job for sure, specially designed by someone with weird ideas

Strange things happends, I have been looking for Delta brakes for a reasonable price for a long time to fit to my Rossin Ghibli. To be honest I bought the above Peugeot for the Record C group. Holdsworth Frame Numbering

Re: I cant say for sure if its a team bike or not, but the DBS La Migliore was a very expensive bike and most of the was custom sized to the rider. My bike has also traces of a hard race life, and I know for sure it was used in racing on national level here in Norway.

    Holdsworth Frame Numbering

Re: There is no additional zeros in the frame number. The frame might be from 76 or 77 aswell as DBS used the same graphics on the racing bikes for a couple of years, The components carries date markings from 75, but they might have been carried over from an other frame, the race teams replaced...

    Mystery bike possible Peugeot?

Thanks for the reply. Its quite clear then, this particular frame is not from the bike the seller won the National Championship in 1987. The Record C group is most likely the same. The pro and semi pro teams replaced their frames quite regularly, the seller seems to have ended his competitive...

    Mystery bike possible Peugeot?

I recently purchased this bike from the original owner, he was racing at the highest level here in Norway in the mid eighties to late eighties. The bike below is supposed to be the bike he used when he won the national championship in 1987. The bike was then labeled as a Peugeot as he was riding...
