Yes!

I was wondering if you might help me identify it and come up with a year.

Team Blue w/ red head tube. chrome fork w/ sloping crown.

Campy rear drop outs and chrome stay ends. Fancy chrome lugs.

Flattened wrap around seat stay, this is different that most I see where it is round all the way. Serial number A19587.

Thanks for any help you can offer

I have loved Falcons for many years. I first saw one hanging in the ceiling of a bike shop; the wrap around seat stays, the light blue color and the exceptional head badge.

As a kid we rode lower end Schwinns. To have a British frame with Campy was a dream.

I don’t have a big collection and have had to sell frames to get others. I try to pick up brochures and Falcon branded items when the price is right.

A top end Falcon has been something I been searching for a long time.

A Falcon track bike would be the Holy Grail of finds. Probably very rare in the U.S. You also don’t see many Falcon Bananas frames here. They are newer but cool.

Hello, I'm a newbie here. Also to forums. can help me. I bought a light blue Falcon Olympic with wrap around seat stays to ride at the ill fated Eroica Goodwood a few years back. It was filthy. remained in my garage untouched until the need for space meant I must sell it. I couldn't bear the thought it might just be passed on again in that condition and set about restoration. Can you help date it. Thanks for reading.

It is quite a late model Olympic. The head badge suggests between 1978, when the metal headbadge was replaced with this foil type, and 1982 when Ernie Clements left the company and his signature on the bottom of the headbadge was replaced with the word Falcon in red.
Does it have a frame number under the bottom bracket? I MAY be able to date it closer if it has.

I'm sorry I'm slow to reply, thank you. It's so nice to hear from someone who knows their stuff. As far as I can make out the frame number is G14630 I've attached a photo of it and any other bits and bobs that might be of interest.

Your bike has Weinmann brakes and they have a date of manufacture stamped on the back (I can just see it on one of the photos but can't read it). If you undo the brakes from the frame (don't take off the cable so it is easy to put back) you should be able to read the date. Assuming it is the original, that will tell you either the year the bike was built or the year before.
