Hey guys appreciate the consensus on the V bars I prefer them as well, its period and suits it!
The CW might have made it younger by two years kinda like a face lift
Working on the small stuff at the moment the Pedals are from Germany and it was just raw Alu, some places unfinished, but Dremel sorted out the rough Alu. I decided I like the DX style 1/2" as its essentially what I was using since 11 wide and reliable.
They got an undercoat and Blue that’s actually nice with a final tough top coat.
The bear traps are in rough shape needs small screws as they had blown out and took an age to remove them, but apparently my colour coded screws have been lost in the post so had to buy again and also the bearings are incomplete ordered a range as I don’t know the size that’s actually should be in them. Feels like catching spindles due to the missing bearings or they are bunching up because they are too small? Either way a Range of bearings have been ordered for refurb.
I've got my bro who gave me the bike is coming down, and he has to come down to fit the chain, then stickers.
It’s a tradition we made up many years as kids, probably because he had the tools
Reflector rear still waiting to arrive, mounting bracket all polished up.
Brother from another mother to stick chain on and stickers thats pretty much done!
Hope you guys enjoyed it? I have..
Will post more pictures once Im completely satisfied
Comments welcomed good or bad.
Thanks for reading!
A few things scratched off the list.
The reflector is a classic whats wrong with today!
You want one its like £30 to £50 to buy a Cateye one, and you know what? wheres the fookin rest of the Burner to come with it?
This reflector is £5.00 delivered same size, but repo and the back of it is white plastic, who cares it looks better than the real thing!
I could just remove my brothers Night Buner's one, and say hey look I spent loads. Enough of a dig for now.
Painted the new 160mm stem securing bolt it now matches.
The bear traps spent so long rebuilding them the bearing just were not smooth, and it took so much of my time.
I stuck larger ones, then smaller ones which left me enough thread for the lock nut to secure it together.
Matching securing trap Hex bolts look right now.
