Not vintage or French, Worldwide Tourers, Campeurs, Porteurs, Audax, Randonneurs, Commuters

That's certainly a cut above the old Puch clunkers that I guess most of us were once familiar with. Lovely.
Puch did really high end stuff, literally as good as the best out there. Some discussion here..

I love Kogas. 1990s Koga Miyata Traveler Tourer sold from steelvintage.com
For the record in case it is removed and we lose information about this bicycle.

In the 1980s Koga Miyata became famous for their Randonneur touring bikes which carried daring adventurers into all corners of the world. Reliability and craftsmanship had a home in the manufactures of Miyata in Japan and Koga in the Netherlands.
The Koga Miyata Traveler is no exception. The wheelbase is long enough to cushion road shocks but anyway short enough to provide a good handling. The frame is made of Hardlite FM-1 tubes, even for a high class randonneur this was is above the standard.
Everything is well-conceived. The Shimano Deore LX brakes and shifting, the racks and the Union dynamo.
A machine from long gone days when traveling by bike was meant to combine both experiences and style.

1970s Pogliaghi randonneur sold from steelvintage.com
For the record in case it is removed and we lose information about this bicycle.

Sante Pogliaghi is undoubtedly one of the best Italian frame builders of the post Second World War times and many champions such as Eddy Merckx and countless others rode with his frames. It is no surprise, that his bikes are highly praised and sought after.

Here we have a rather special one which bears the Pogliaghi name. Being a fast randonneur bike it is quite different to the road or indeed track frames we are familiar with and it is possible that it has been made by another builder under contract for Sante Pogliaghi. The truth remains, that we cannot be sure who it actually was, but the quality of the frame is obvious and it also shares a typical Pogliaghi detail of a serial number stamped on the left side of the seat lug.

The equipment is equally interesting and nothing you would find on every other bike. It is fitted with a group set composed of high quality golden anodized parts from French brands like Simplex, Stronglight or Mafac, which match the original beige paint job perfectly. Throw in the elegant stainless steel mudguards, Cinelli saddle and cockpit or the high-flange Somedec hubs it and the result is truly stunning. The Martano rims are also very fine and usually found on the bikes of the highest grade.

A perfect bike for long rides in style where no rain will catch you off guard.

1980 Colnago oval CX town bike sold from steelvintage.com
For the record in case it is removed and we lose information about this bicycle. This floats my boat, excessive and nicely crafted.

Before computer modeling and wind tunnel tests in a sterilized lab, the concept of aerodynamics consisted of getting in the drops and turning your cap backwards. Riders relied on the feel of the breeze and their marginal gain was shaving their legs.
Colnago however knew bicycle design was about to change forever when they partnered with Columbus to utilize a radical new tubing known as Oval CX.

Due to its labor intensive nature, and the need to develop precision machinery to accommodate not only the tubes, but also the lugs to join them, bikes built using these Oval tubes were exceedingly rare in the mid 1980s. In fact, Columbus allowed only one master frame builder, Vanni Pettenella, the chance to build these bikes for Colnago spanning from 1983 to 1985.

Before these special tubes, Colnago tried to achieve a similar aerodynamic effect by using tubes with an extra narrow diameter. By the way, the Oval CX's seatpost ist a remnant of that design.

While the racing models of the Oval CX did not stop with the tube shape but often also featured reversed rear brakes or internally routed cables, there was one special offspring of the model line which was sort of a contradiction.

Instead of further improving the aerodynamics, took the innovative frameset and went in the completely opposite direction with it. The Colnago Oval CX Gentleman was built as a sportive yet comfortable urban bike. It received such quirky accessories as mudguards, a chain guard and even a rear rack! On top the rider's position was intended to be more upright, thus a lightweight city bike handlebar was installed. The outcome was likely the hottest lightweight city bicycle of its time.

We are happy to be able to present to you one of those pieces and one in great, almost completely original condition at that. Not only is this a bike for historians and collectors of beautiful sports machines, but it’s also more than capable of being taken off the wall taking you around town with speed and in style.

1960s Legnano town bike sold from steelvintage.com
For the record in case it is removed and we lose information about this bicycle. I like green and I think this is lovely 🥰

Seven world championships, six Giro d'Italia, two Tour de France and two world hour records are enough to enumerate Legnano among the most winning - thus most prestigious - brands of all time. A brand that is also proud of being one of the oldest Italian manufactures (1902, Milano) and of having manufactured bicycles that would become true icons.

However, it was not just racing bicycles that Legnano produced as you can see from our Legnano Touring Bike here.

Thanks to the frame geometry and the handlebar position this Legnano assures a very comfortable riding experience. The paintwork on the lugged steel frame has been refurbished and brought back to its original glory.

Regarding the components, this Legnano is equipped with original Legnano parts and with a new Brooks Champion leather saddle.

Whether to the train station, to the office or to the bakery, ride like the gentleman you are! (:oops:allegedly GIGFY)
