Specialized M2 Info Thread/Serial Registry

So i have a specialized M2PRO I bought a frame specialized epic allenz carbon fibre I snapped it going up a local hill at the time I was really into cycling. I was a bean stick the specialized rep saw the frame and replaced it with the M2Pro I did look at the serial number somthing-S-R-03569
The frame was apparently the race colors of specialized @ that time.
so built my self Shimano 105 brake caliper 105 hubs 105 front mec deor xt mountain bike rear mec. sprocet is 11-23 7 speed 42-54 front the chainset is mistral by omega.

I changed the rims last year to potholes. Its a lovely bike needs a good deep clean.
It has some nasty gear levers had them put on a few years ago because i wanted gears on the breaks not on the down tube.
Its my fav bike.. but have a new bike
I also have a specailized air piranha helmet although after 30odd years although I still use it dont know if it would do any good protecting my head :)

Welcome! Ha, the “something” is the most important part! Luckily I am almost certain it’s a 1995. Road models are rare and I’ve never seen a red one. Ofmega Mistral in the wild is crazy, I thought those were the weird Raleigh branded SR cranks from the 80’s. Looks nice! Yes, the team colors at the time were Team Red and white… just missing some blue touches.
The Epics are gorgeous, but they terrify me…

Tomorrow I will take the wheels off & let you know. But i have had that bike around 30years.. The ofmega is a really nice crankset super light for the time.
When you say missing the blue touches?
Thanks for a very quick responce

Re: the blue: The other S-Works Team bikes of the time had blue accents along with the red and white. This one wasn’t part of the Team line so it was just red and white.

Thanks, I have nothing better to do with my life :)

Hi Neko - took out the wheel and the before the -S is 95 so 95-S-R-03369 so you where right it being a 95

It actually took me down memory lane a little I did do a search for my helmet as that also matches the same color scheme.
The good old days when bikes where standardised :)

I bought this Green M2 a few months ago at a thrift store for a steal. I’ve always been a Specialized fan and have had a few stock RockHoppers and StumpJumpers in the past but this one looked “Special” I was going to sell it because I no longer ride in the dirt but now after learning some of the history of these I’ve decided to keep it. Here are a few pics of it.
