I just read about LFGSS disappearing in march due to the UK online safety act. I don't post on there and have only very occasionally had a look, but my first thought was "is RB at risk?"
I don't know all the details, and the act is probably based on good intentions, but if it's going to mean platforms like LFGSS disappearing, then surely something is wrong with it somehow?

Sounds horrific. Have used LFGSS a bit (just under 500 posts) and sold stuff etc. as I use to be London based.

Haven't delved into the detail properly but sounds like RetroBike might get hit by this too?!*:(

What is perceived to be unsafe?
Risk of fraud?
Bad language?
Someone persuading me to commit a malicious act?

More ill thought out legislation ,sledge hammer tactics. Simple real just make it impossible to do anything. Un intended consequences.
I remember been sent risk assessment forms in order to continue running cycle events .
Solution no event on risk . Simple ,all forms into shredder.

Sigh

Crazy if this does effect this site with a bunch of guys chatting & selling old bike bits. All the major social media sites are the real problem, but they of course have the big legal teams to find the loop holes.
