With the last piece now on (matching XT front derailleur) it is now finished. Am pleased with how it turned out and it rides well.

Thanks for the indo Sam. I hadn't thought about the cantilever stop so will have to go the V brake route and leave the cantis for the MS Racing Comp XT frameset I have to refurbish.

Spookily, I have just found this on Marketplace. That is the frame I have and Minster Cycles is based in Beverley not far from me. This bike even has the same Specialized triple chainset that came with my frame.
