I got some mudguards but they're quite close, especially the rear, that said that's mostly due to the modern fixing bracket, using an old pressed sheet steel one may allow fitting.
The spacers kept moving to I wrapped the adapter in white packing foam then slid the spacers over, still not 100% so I'll glue the spacers perfectly in line then replace them, May need a smidge more packing.
These are Smart Sam 700x 40, pretty sure it'd take up to 45...possibly a tad bigger? It's a 1" quill to 1 1/8" threadless, not sure of stem but it makes changing bars etc far far easier, three 10mm spacers ease the flow from quill to ahead l think!
Now running an stx rc as the original derailleur cage got bent when it picked a stick up, ultimately I'll pop on a Deore Xt to match the front...when I can find one in decent nick and long cage.
My old Raleigh Pioneer trail from 91, the original 'hybrid', swapped a few steel bits for lighter alloy, popped on drops and rx100 brifters, it works a treat!
Shifters pop up on Ebay frequently, often they stick but just need a damn good flushing out with WD40/GT85 or similar, keep moving the shifter carefully over a few days and it 'should' free up. I've bought several sets of 'broken' rx100 shifters, all have freed up!
