Rene Herse (original not Taiwanese repro) ahead stem and triple cranks. Fed up with the poor offering from Stronglight, he thought 'sod it, I'll make me own' and with a sealed cartridge bottom bracket too. Not bad for 1950's engineering. I really like the chromed bolts 'no dust caps' finishing.

The little top cap on the stem was usually engraved with the owners name and address.

Ofmega are a mysterious but fascinating company to me - they made loads of forgettable Campagnolo clone products, but then came out with some beautifully designed and finished components that still stand out from the crowd.

The plastic Mistral RD definitely tends toward the 'weird,' but the crankset has to be classed as 'wonderful' in my eyes. :p

I have a crank and most of a Premier group I am looking forward to showing off on the right frame one day. 🤩
