Can't stop laughing. This speaks overtones - it's absolutely spot on and hits the register for me. Love it.

I've found pair of "spanners quick grip" (GPO) very useful. In particular a more modern pair that can be adjusted so that the Jaws are always parallel. You need a firm grip obviously to avoid the dreaded rounded nuts.

It's just occurred to me the secret tool - the French have a thing called a "pipe spanner" - "clé à pipe".

I only have one hardware store close by - but yes, there must be.

I'll need to ask the local retired mechanics and the not so local garage here what they would recommend.

Great find, looks like really well made frame, any idea of the builder..? Looks like the brakes are LAM Super Dural, loving those sexy curvaceous levers with their big clamp... they'll polish up beautifully..
